How do you make your pottery?
Each piece is made on a potters wheel by hand, after which it is finished (e.g. handled, a spout is formed etc.), slowly dried for 2-3 weeks and fired for the first time to 1000 centigrade. Then each piece is hand glazed and after the glaze dries it is decorated by brush. Only then is the pot ready for the final firing to 1100 C.
Do you ship?
Yes. Anywhere in the world.
Do you accept commissions/orders?
Yes we do. Why not e-mail or call us to talk about this possibility.
Are there variations in colour?
Although the colour in each range is consistent, we apply the pigment by brush and this naturally gives a slight difference in hue for all the pieces.
Are the pots ovenproof?
The clay we use is not suitable for cooking in, however it is robust and can be used to serve hot foods. Many of our customers use our pottery in the dishwasher, however we find the safest way to treat your Annascaul Pottery is handwashing. Microwaves are not recommended.
Do you accept credit cards?
We do.
Is your workshop in Annascaul open all year round?
We are open all year round, however during off season Monday- Friday only, otherwise seven days. Call ahead if you want to be sure we will be there when you need us, check the Contact Us page for the phone number.
